Merck is the world’s oldest pharmaceutical and chemical company. Its historical roots lie in Darmstadt, where Friedrich Jacob Merck acquired the Engel-Apotheke (“Angel Pharmacy”) in 1668. It is a leading biopharmaceutical company engaged in the research and development of medicines in oncology, neurodegenerative diseases, fertility, endocrinology and cardiometabolic care. It employs approximately 17,000 people worldwide and its products are commercialized in 150 countries.

Lundbeck

Lundbeck is an international pharmaceutical company highly committed to improving the quality of life for people suffering from brain disorders such as depression and anxiety, psychotic disorders, epilepsy and Huntington’s, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. It has headquarters in Milan, Italy, and operations in the main European countries, in Central and Eastern Europe. Recordati is committed to the research and development of new drug entities within the cardiovascular and urogenital therapeutic areas and of treatments for rare diseases.

Grünenthal

Grünenthal is a science-based, privately-owned pharmaceutical company and a global leader in pain management and related diseases. It is a fully integrated pharmaceutical company that offers support along the entire value chain – from drug development through to commercialisation. Grünenthal is headquartered in Aachen, Germany, and has affiliates in 29 countries across Europe, Latin America and the US. Its products are sold in more than 100 countries. In 2019, Grünenthal employed around 4,700 people and achieved sales of € 1.4 billion.

Galderma

One of the world’s leading dermatology companies, founded in 1981 as a joint venture between Nestlé and L’Oréal. Galderma employs nearly 4,000 employees worldwide and its products are distributed in over 70 countries. Approximately 20% of revenues are invested annually to discover and develop new drugs. Galderma’s research efforts have allowed the company to issue 1700 scientific publications, develop more than 550 inventions and file 5500 patent applications and patents.

WinMedica is a Greek pharmaceutical company marketing a wide range of products in Greece. Its strategy focuses on marketing original pharmaceuticals through alliances with research-based international companies, on value added generics and biosimilars and on high quality non-prescription products. In 2017 Winmedica and Papaloisou signed an agreement for the marketing and distribution of non-prescription (OTC) products in Cyprus.
